Good morning ladies, today we will be looking at the ease of wearing "all black".
On days where you don't know what to wear or not sure what to pair together, all black is definitely your way out. Hence the invention of the little black dress which is here to stay. It's quick and easy, it's simple, can be dressed up nicely with accessories. In the image above, the model is so simply dressed yet so Chic! As you can see her accessories are what really uplifts her look Eg her gloves and jewelry, and she's wearing her nylons with a pair of heels. So Stunning - definitely a steal for me :) Now that I live in North America where there is a lot more cold than hot, I own a bit too much black for an island girl but it's so necessary. Not too wise for tropical weather but it can be worn occasionally. What would your "All Black" outfit look like? Get my imagination going :) Happy Thursday Ladies :) xoxo

Good morning ladies and welcome back to the blog :) Today it's a bit of product knowledge on Necklines.
Above is an image of the common necklines that we wear and their names, however there are some more. Necklines help speak a language of their own, depending on the outfit and occasion. That language could be "basic, sexy, flirty, professional or casual", all depending on your occasion or ootd (outfit of the day) For someone who does not have the best chest due to acne scars (myself) I prefer round/crew necks compared to V necks or the Sweatheart. Not saying I wouldn't wear it but like once a year maybe, like my birthday dinner dress was somewhat sweetheart. Off the shoulder I don't think I own at all, again it's what you're most comfortable in and what makes you look your best based on the occasion. Some necklines are more flattering on the right "upper body shape" and we must be mindful of that. Wearing the right bra can also help in that regard. What is your most common or favorite neckline and why? Let me know and thank you for being a part of my blogging world. :) Have a blessed Tuesday! xoxo Good day ladies...Today's topic will be the most adored Maxi Skirt.
Perfect for Spring and Summer & it fits every body type! Because it accentuates the waist and loosely flows all the way to the ground, it does not reveal the true shape of your bottom half. Perfect for casual occasions like the movies, brunch, an evening walk with your partner or even a day at the mall :) Very feminine and flattering, works every time! The maxi skirt can be paired with a simple tank top, a T shirt or a dressy blouse (preferably fitted inside as shown above) I think a statement necklace would be the "seal for the deal" on the skirt. It will help balance your look when it comes to "proportion". Visually, the skirt occupies alot of "space" on the bottom of the body so to balance the look a statement necklace would be great. (Also, if you're not throwing a jacket on, it would help) Maxi skirts in African print I think are really pretty, haven't landed my hands on one as yet but in the near future I hope to get one :) Help me style this maxi skirt differently guys - show me what you got! Love, #gorgeousdoll Denim Oh Denim...You will never ever go away!
Dating as far back as the 1600s, denim was a very durable type of fabric. It was used for men's clothing in the 1700s, starting off as work apparel in the form of overalls or dungarees and today is considered the #1 staple in everyone's closet. Today, denim comes in a variety of styles, trims and washes. Denim on denim is a very common trend and can be worn in a variety of ways. Above are just a few ways that you can pair your denim. You can choose a lighter denim shirt (usually chambray) worn on a heavier denim skirt/pant. Overalls, jackets, dresses you name it! Mixing and matching different washes is also cool, like a stone washed worn on a dark wash. However you choose to style it is ok - Style is Individual :) Dressed up or dressed down, heels or flats, your way is the best way! How would you pair your Denim on Denim? Happy Wednesday lovely ladies xoxo It's a Terrific Tuesday and today we will be talking about our body types.
Above are the 4 common body types most women fall under: Apple, Pear, Hour Glass and Rectangle. 1. Apple - the shape basically speaks for it's self. Round upper body with a slimmer bottom proportion. Some of us say "improper fraction" meaning the upper body is bigger than the bottom. 2. Pear - the opposite to the apple. The top is smaller than the bottom, therefore the bust area is small but the hips expand wider than the upper frame. 3. Hour Glass - every woman's desire! well proportioned top and bottom with a neatly indented waistline. (That's why we wear corsets or waist bands) 4. Rectangle - as the shape implies (no curves) slim body frame from top to bottom. In order for us to be dressed appropriately at all times we must dress according to our body types, however there is clothing that can suit all 4 types Eg. the Midi skirt as I shared yesterday. Later this week I will introduce some clothing for all 4 body types :) Thanks for Reading Love #gorgeousdoll Happy May 1st Everyone! It's a New Month & It's a New Season. One that represents positive change and beauty. Colour and life is being restored to the trees and the gardens. I encourage you this morning to embrace that exciting change and beauty for your life! There's beauty in every season of change! :)
Today I want to talk about my favourite closet piece - The Midi Skirt or Circle Skirt as referred to in the 1950s. When I was interviewed for my job recently I was asked the question "If you were to choose one item in your closet that represents you, what would it be?" That was a hard question to ask me but after a bit of thinking I thought of the Midi Skirt. Why the Midi Skirt - It is very flattering! Perfect for EVERY body type and the fit is perfect! I just love how it accentuates the waist and gives it that slim look, then it opens up like a big tulip turned upside down (Tulips are my favourite flowers fyi lol and they're blooming right now) The skirt can be dressed up with heels and a blouse/blazer or it can be dressed down with All stars and a denim/leather jacket - So Fab! In the pics above you can see how this skirt is worn in various ways and colours (from history). Question: If you had a midi skirt or if you do, what colour would it be/is it and what would you/do you pair it with? I would love to know and envision :) Have A Prosperous Week!...I'm officially on vacation from school but working part time :) Look out for more fun blog posts ....Love Yall xoxo Hi Guys,
I just want to apologize for the late arrival of your prizes. My girlfriend should have been in St Lucia a week ago but she just informed me she is not coming till June due to unforeseen circumstances.... I will be shipping them in a barrel that will leave Toronto next week Tuesday. Please inbox me a contact number for you, so you can be reached to receive your prizes. Again I am terribly sorry for this delay. Thanks for your understanding :) Have a blessed Monday! Hi guys,
Today I take you into an assignment that I will present to my class a bit later on. We were asked in Trend class to develop a 5 pc Denim line, for a particular target customer. We had to make an Inspiration board which speaks to where the idea for our line came from and the board with the 5 pieces. I decided to name my line Royal Beauty in French Beauté Royale, because my target is Kate Middleton and Michelle Obama. Women of integrity and status. My Inspiration is my favorite designer of all time - Coco Chanel (Love Her Everything) When I think of Coco I think Luxury, Class, Sophistication, Feminine, Royal My second source of inspiration was the 1950's a very rich era, war is over and there is lots of money to spend. A very happy time in the history of fashion. 1st piece - Black High Waist Pencil Skirt 2nd piece - Light Blue Wrap Dress 3rd piece - Dark Blue Peter Pan Collar Tea Dress 4th piece - Dark Blue Wide Leg Pant 5th piece - Dark Blue Slim Fit Jeans I'm kinda nervous to present but I hope all goes well, details to follow :) Your feedback is necessary lol....Love you guys xoxo Hiiiiiiiiiiiii and welcome back to Inspiration with The Doll -feels like I've been away forever.
This #gorgeousdoll had a fantastic and blessed birthday!! The Lord made it extra special this year. #forevergrateful Thanks again to all who wished me well and sent greetings. :) Today I just want to encourage you with a bit of Wisdom. "Take some time out to Love on Yourself" As most of you may know I am a single mother living in Toronto with no family and as I was approaching my 33rd birthday I said to myself if I don't get myself presents nobody will :( I work hard, I do everything on my own and I just want to celebrate me on my day. I wanted to have the best birthday and the good Lord made provision for that. Since my birthday was on Monday, I treated myself to a new church dress for Sunday service, a new sweater dress & dinner dress for the birthday and some accessories (handbag, watch and shoes) By this I imply.....If you don't make a deliberate effort to take care for you, who will? Loving on you is not just buying yourself a bunch of new stuff but it means being kind to yourself or even being kind to others. Take yourself on a date, a spa treatment, take a walk with a dear friend or your spouse. Make it a point to love you amidst this busy life. Something that would express love to you from you.....It is necessary for our walk with the Lord and even our survival here on earth. So many people suffer with depression and oppression because their minds are tied up in the web of anxiety. It doesn't take much from you, tell yourself that you will begin to show some appreciation to you, you will be surprised to feel the weight that lifts off you. A weight that you probably never realized was there....going through the routine of life everyday. I love you all and be encouraged. Let me know when the next date is :) and if you need to inbox me privately on this please do, I'm available to you :) Happy Wednesday Dolls......Be Blessed! #Random
A gentle reminder from my Icon herself.....Coco Chanel :) Even in death....She speaks with an echo #smiles |
